i) What do you want to do?

I want to draw the picture of an old building especially the roof top where people are staying thereat. The title of the said picture will be "Living On The Roof Top During The Good Old Days"

ii) Where do you get the idea /concept?

I got the idea during an outdoor photography lesson in Petaling Street.

iii) Why do you choose this topic?

It is rich in culture and Malaysian heritage in respect of building.

iv) What are your favorite things about you work?

It is a real thing /scenery which I have seen and put into painting. I used mixed medium like cloth and thread to add in new creativity in my work. I also use gesso and stone to create the actual texture of an old building /wall.

v) How do you start to work?

First and formest I paint the whole canvas using acrylic raw sienna colour. Then I start to paint the sky and cloud. Next I move on to paint the roof and wall and so forth. Lastly I use thread and cloth to make the clothes hanging on the roof top itself.

vi) How do you feel about your work?

It gave me the pleasure and excitement to draw the aforesaid painting because wanted to remember how people lived on the roof top during the yesteryears and let not the memories fade away and images washed out, buried, destroyed or killed by time. Subsequently these old buildings might be demolished and consequently such scene might be wiped away or destroyed, giving way to urban development.
